Seasons of Change: Embracing Life's Transitions
September always feels like a season between seasons. Summer hasn't completely disappeared, but signs everywhere show change is coming. The days are getting shorter. The mornings feel different, and there's a chill in the air. Leaves are beginning their slow transformation. Nature doesn't seem to resist this transition. It simply responds to the season.
We aren't always so willing. Change can be exciting, but it can also leave us feeling unsettled. Even changes we've chosen can bring uncertainty. We may find ourselves holding tightly to what is familiar while another part of us knows it is time for something new.
I've learned that mindfulness doesn't mean that we suddenly embrace every change with enthusiasm. Instead, it gives us a way to meet change with awareness, curiosity, and compassion. Perhaps this season isn't asking you to reinvent yourself, but simply to go with flow of the seasons.
Ask yourself: What is changing in my life, and what do I need as I move through it?
Mindfully yours,

I recently visited the Bay Area and took this photo at China Camp Beach.
The salty sea air was refreshing!
Monthly Mindful Practice:
The Letting Go Breath

Find a comfortable position and allow yourself to become still.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
As you breathe in, silently say:
I am here.
As you breathe out:
I can soften.
Continue for several breaths.
Then notice whether you are holding tension anywhere in your body. Your jaw. Your shoulders. Your belly. Your hands.
With each exhale, see if you can soften just a little.
You don't have to let go of everything.
Sometimes the practice is simply loosening our grip.
📜 Reflective Soul Food
Last month I had the pleasure and privilege of walking the Tennessee Point Labyrinth in Marin County, CA. It was a cool, grey day, but every day is beautiful when you're by the ocean, in my opinion. It took me a total of 12 minutes to walk in and out of the labyrinth. 12 minutes of focused attention on where I placed my feet; feeling the cool ocean breeze on my face; hearing the sea birds chatter in the distance. Walking the labyrinth reminded me that life is not about reaching a destination. It's about being present with every step, trusting whatever unfolds, and allowing space for what wants to emerge.
💭 Reflection
Think about the last time you were near the ocean. What do you remember most? What called you there?

🥣 Healthy Recipe
Cozy Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats
Ingredients
• ½ cup rolled oats • ½ cup unsweetened oat or almond milk • 1 tablespoon chia seeds • ½ apple, diced • ½ teaspoon cinnamon • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or pecans • Optional drizzle of maple syrup
Directions
Combine the oats, milk, chia seeds, apple, and cinnamon in a jar or bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, top with walnuts or pecans and a little maple syrup if desired.
Enjoy cold or gently warmed.

Mindful Moment
Before eating, pause for one breath. Notice the scent of cinnamon and apple, the warmth or coolness of the bowl in your hands, and the first bite. Let breakfast be breakfast, even if only for a few minutes.
🍎 Wellness Wisdom
Create a Fall Reset
September is a natural time to check in on the routines that support your well-being.
Rather than trying to overhaul everything, choose one area that could use a little attention:
• Sleep • Movement • Nourishment • Stress • Connection • Rest • Time for yourself
Then ask:
What's one small change that would make this area of my life feel more supportive?
Small, sustainable changes often create more lasting transformation than dramatic ones.

Grounding
What helps me feel steady when life feels uncertain?
Ease
Where might I soften my expectations of myself?
Notice What is changing in my life right now?
Tend
What part of me needs care during this transition?
Let Go
What am I holding onto that may no longer serve me?
Embody
How do I want to move through this next season of my life?

Is Something in Your Life Ready to Change?
Maybe you know you want to feel better, but you're not quite sure where to begin.
Maybe you've tried to make changes before, but life gets busy, and your own needs keep slipping to the bottom of the list.
Or maybe nothing is necessarily "wrong." You simply have a sense that the way you've been living isn't quite the way you want to keep living.
This is the kind of space coaching can create.
Coaching is not about someone telling you what you should do or giving you another list of things you are supposed to accomplish. It's a safe space to slow down, get curious about what you really want, identify what's getting in the way, and begin taking realistic steps toward the life you want to create.
As a Mindful Change Coach, my role is to walk alongside you as you discover what works for you. So, if you've been thinking about making a change, I'd love to have a conversation.
There is no pressure and no expectation that you sign up for coaching. Let's simply talk about where you are, where you'd like to be, and whether working together might be helpful.
My approach is rooted in creating a compassionate, supportive space where growth and transformation flourish. I’m committed to helping you cultivate mindfulness, resilience, and self-discovery as we navigate life’s challenges together. My goal is to guide you toward a more vibrant, meaningful, and balanced life.
